A BRIEF IMAGE HISTORY OF THE DUG-OUT PROJECT 2013-2015
While the Dreaming of a new Dug-out/press box facility had been in the works since 1999, the designs by Jacob Holm in 2010, really gave them a sense of purpose.
On November 9, 2013, shortly after the School Board passed a resolution that the project could begin, Fox Excavating/Eagle Concrete & Players and Families went to work with the demolition. AND IN DECEMBER, poles were set & the foundations were poured....
AND DESPITE ONE OF THE WORST WINTERS IN MODERN MEMORY, the walls went up in January and February.
Former BULLDOG Center Fielder Mike Chidester lays forms for the backstop wall.
Concrete work was finished by the first of March, and it was time for the Building Trades Classes to move in for their Carpentry work.
AS the spring progressed, labor was provided by parent volunteers and our BUILDING TRADES CLASSES. Below, John Townsend, father of Sean wires the dugout. |
By the Spring of 2015, the walls were stained, Hat & bat racks were installed, signs were attached and the project had reached it's completion. Joey Gross models the Program moniker provided by Alpha Graphics.
On Memorial Day, the program, families and Alumni were able to celebrate and dedicate the new facilities to THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN SO DEDICATED, from our Boys and their families over the years to Coaches and Grounds Crew.
